Local queer filmmakers wanted!
Traumfrau and FilmPride are celebrating International Women’s Day with a special event on Saturday 11th March. A double bill – Film Screening + Party!
The evening will begin with a screening of short films, documentaries and animations and will be followed by Traumfrau’s iconic IWD Party!
We are looking for visual stories from local, aspiring and experienced filmmakers alike, on the theme of International Women’s Day. This can be in the form of a narrative short film, documentary, animation, monologue, music or experimental video, you name it! If you have a phone and want to make a film, or have something you made already, this might just be the opportunity you have been waiting for! Nothing is too low-fi and we encourage you to work with whatever means you have. We will consider any films up to 10 minutes. But encourage you to think shorter.
It’s a loose theme – so go wild.
We want your home videos and your homo videos!
Submissions are free and the selected entries will win a cash prize of £80.
The films will be showcased during our International Women’s Day event on 11th March. Also screening will be a selection of films with a focus on female-identifying filmmakers and stories, brough by FilmPride, Brighton & Hove Pride’s official LGBTQIA+ film festival.
Please send a private link to your video to filmpride@gmail.com. For accessibility purposes, selected entries will be required to provide English subtitles. If you are unsure about how to subtitle your film please reach out to filmpride@gmail.com.
Deadline to submit is February 20.
We look forward to watching your fabulous films!
